Job Description: Healthcare Informatics Specialist
Position Overview:
The Healthcare Informatics Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of healthcare information systems within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare administration, data management, and information technology. The Healthcare Informatics Specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective use of healthcare informatics and data analytics tools to enhance patient care and operational processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the implementation and optimization of healthcare informatics systems, including electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems, and other related applications.
2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, IT teams, and stakeholders to analyze, design, and implement data management strategies and solutions that align with organizational goals.
3. Develop and implement data quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and security of healthcare data.
4. Collect, analyze, and interpret healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for quality improvement and operational efficiency.
5. Design and generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate healthcare analytics insights to key stakeholders.
6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement healthcare protocols, guidelines, and best practices based on data analysis.
7. Participate in the selection, implementation, and training of healthcare informatics tools and systems.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to healthcare informatics and data management.
9. Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and confidentiality standards for healthcare data.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare informatics or a similar role.
3. In-depth knowledge of healthcare administration, clinical operations, and healthcare information systems.
4. Proficiency in data management, analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
5. Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, SNOMED CT, ICD-10) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and security.
